Americans are smart..yes we are~

Americans can sometimes infuriate me.. the appearance of blind loyalty they have to a President or a political party can be maddening at times. The apathetic, detached manner in which many seem to handle this recession is even more frustrating.

But I give credit where its due-- at least collectively, we seem to be understanding and accepting the truth-- we really Do get it:

From Bloomberg:  "Two years after the official start of the recovery, the American people remain pessimistic about their current economic circumstances and longer-term prospects. Fewer than a quarter of people (less than 25%) see signs of improvement in the economy, and two-thirds (66%) say they believe the country is on the wrong track overall, according to a Bloomberg National Poll conducted June 17-20.

By a 44 percent to 34 percent margin, Americans say they believe they are worse off than when President Obama took office in early 2009, when the U.S. was in the depths of a recession compounded by the September 2008 financial crisis and the economy was losing as many as 820,000 jobs a month.

The gloom covers the immediate future, with fewer than 1 in 10 people (less than 10%!) expecting unemployment to return to pre-recession levels within the next two years, and it extends to the next generation. More than half of respondents (over 50%) say their children are destined to have a lower standard of living than they do, upending a traditional touchstone of the American Dream."

~  The worst part is that as it stands now, the choices for President in 2012 are just Terrible.  On one side, you have the sitting President who tirelessly campaigned as a Democrat yet governs economically and militarily as a Republican. On the other side, a group of know-nothings, cackling away lie after lie about the President because they can't publicly admit they like his policies, and who's only solution for the economy is to make sure the corporations and wealthy pay Zero taxes while the burden shifts to the middle and lower classes.

It is ironic that you have a President pretending to be Dem while two candidates on the right- Mitt Romney and Texas Governor Rick Perry (who will eventually run) pretend they are Reps.

"It's a little Ironic.. Don't Ya think...  It's like Raiiinnnnn.. on your wedding day..."  Oopsie.. always break out into song when I find something is Ironic.. Thanks Alanis  hehe~
